arteriorrhexis ar-TER-ee-oh-REK-sis rupture of an artery
myocardial infarction (MI) MAI-oh-KAR-dee-al in-FARK-shun death of heart muscle tissue
valvulitis VAL-vyoo-LAI-tis inflammation of a heart valve
percutaneous coronary intervention PER-kyoo-TAY-nee-us KOR-oh-NER-ee-IN-ter-VEN-shun alternate treatment for a coronary artery that passes instruments up a patient's blood vessels into the heart
anastomosis ah-NAS-toh-moh-sis creation of an opening between two normally separate structures
arterioplasty ar-TER-ee-oh-PLAS-tee surgical reconstruction of an artery
endarterectomy END-ar-ter-EK-toh-mee surgical removal of the inside of an artery
