| Chemical Weathering | Changes in the chemical composition of a rock |
| Physical Weathering | When rocks are broken apart without chemical change, usually caused by wind, water, ice, gravity, and plants |
| What happens when there is more surface area exposed? | The more surface area exposed, the faster the weathering |
| What happens when the mineral composition is softer? | The softer the mineral, the faster it will weather |
| How does Climate affect chemical reactions? | Moisture and heat help chemical reactions occur faster. Chemical weathering is more intense in warm moist climates. |
