Prefixes and Suffixes

-s/-es primarily used to turn singular nouns into plurals (e.g., cat/cats, bus/buses) or to conjugate verbs in the third-person singular present tense (e.g., run/runs, wash/washes).
-ed "ED" most commonly refers to Erectile Dysfunction,
-ing  a versatile English morpheme used to form the present participle (verbal adjectives/continuous tenses) and gerunds (nouns indicating an action or process).
-ly  primarily forms adverbs from adjectives, indicating a specified manner, degree, or time
-er/-or  are both used in English to form agent nouns—nouns that indicate a person or thing that performs a specific action.
-ion/-tion/-sion/-ation  are used to turn verbs (action words) into nouns, indicating the act, process, state, or result of that action.
-able/-ible  "capable of," "fit for," "worthy of," or "inclined to".
-al/-ial  "relating to," "characterized by," or "connected with" a base word.
-y  the 25th and penultimate letter of the English alphabet, acting as both a consonant (e.g., yes, beyond) and a vowel (e.g., myth, my).
-ness a headland, cape, or promontory of land extending into a body of water.
un an international organization founded in 1945 to maintain global peace, security, and cooperation,
re "again," "anew," "back," or "backward," indicating repetition or restoration (e.g., retell, rebuild).
dis to treat with contempt, insult, or show disrespect, typically in public.
in-/im Latin-derived negations meaning "not" or "opposite of," or as prefixes meaning "in," "into," or "on".
