| Catalyst | A substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without being permanently altered by the reaction. |

| Subscript | A number representing the number of atoms in an element in one molecule. For example, the subscript “2” in H₂0 - indicates there are 2 hydrogen atoms in a water molecule. |
| Coefficient | A number that multiplies a term in an equation For example, 6H₂0 means that there are 6 water molecules. |

| Endothermic | A process that absorbs heat energy it gets colder around it Endo = Enter → heat enters (goes in) |
