| Pituitary gland | Often called the “master gland,” it controls other endocrine glands and sits at the base of the brain. |
| Thyroid gland | A gland in the neck that regulates metabolism, energy levels, and body temperature. |
| Adrenal glands | Located on top of the kidneys; they produce hormones like adrenaline and cortisol for stress response. |
| Pancreas | Produces insulin and glucagon to regulate blood sugar levels. |
| Tonsils | Lymphatic tissue in the throat that helps trap and fight infections. |
| Spleen | Filters blood, removes old red blood cells, and helps fight infection. |
| Thymus | A gland where T-cells mature; important for immune system development (especially in childhood). |
| Lymph nodes | Small structures that filter lymph fluid and store white blood cells to fight infection. |
