Repetition Repeated use of words, or ideas for effect and emphasis
Fable A brief story that leads to a moral, often using animals as characters
Autobiography An account of a person's life written by that person
Biography story of a person's life written by another person
Persuasive Writing writing that attempts to convince the reader to adopt a particular opinion
Informational Writing writing that tells the reader about something, gives facts, or explains something
Tragedy a play dealing with tragic events and having an unhappy ending
Comedy A play which ends happily
Onomatopoeia A word that imitates the sound it represents
Hyperbole exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally
