brain boxes visualize your different FOWL skills—vocab or geo—in different storage boxes in your brain
changing gears changing speeds—sometimes moving quickly through the material, sometimes moving slowly
compound interest the earlier your investment [in skill development] the bigger the long-term rewards
pulling in the same direction people working together results in a more efficient, effective, and successful outcome
marathon, not a sprint keep long-term goals in mind, knowing you'll have good days and not so good days in between
