BAMTA 9 Compositions

These are the composition forms for BAMTA level 9

QuestionAnswer
Allemande a German dance in 3/4 time
Ballade a simple song that tells a story
Bouree a lively French dance usually beginning on the upbeat
Ecossaise an English or Scottish country dance
Gavotte a lively French dance in 4/4 time, usually beginning on the 3rd beat of a measure
Gigue jig; a rapid Irish dance, usually in 6/8 time
Mazurka a lively Polish dance in 3/8 or 3/4, accented on the 2nd or 3rd beat of a measure
Minuet a slow graceful dance in 3/4 time
Musette a Scottish dance imitating bagpipe tunes
Sarabande a stately dance of Spanish or Oriental origin
Tarantella a rapid Italian dance usually in 6/8 time (spider dance)
Waltz a universal dance in 3/4 time
