TermDefinition
Trachea Where oxygen travels after it goes through the nose. Windpipe
Homeostasis Keeping internal conditions safe inside the body. (keeping the body in balence/check)
Nose Primary location where oxygen enters our bodies
Bronchi These tubes force the air into our cells. They are like roots to tree. The father they get from the lungs the smaller they get.
Lungs Major organ of the Respriatory System
Aveoli Responsible for carrying the waste product from cells back out to the lungs and out of our bodies when we breathe out
Diaphragm Conntracts when we breathe
Waste products from respiratory system Carbon dioxide and water vapor
Kidneys Excrete urine and make it here. They are shaped like beans
Ureters Tube that urine leaves the kidneys from
Bladder Sacs where urine is stored
Urethra A tube below the bladder that carries urine out of the body when you use the bathroom
Liver Produces urea and breaks down waste into forms that can be excreted and poteinally recycled. Secondary organ
Oxygen What we inhale and gives energy and nutrients to the cells
Carbon Dioxide Waste product that we exhale from our bodies
Tissue Many similar cells working together
Organ Different tissues working together to do a job
Organ System Organs that work together to perform major functions
