Lord/King Owns all of the land
Nobles Helps the lord control the land.In return, the lord offers him protection
Castle. Rooms include Great Hall, chapel, solar, dungeon, bed chamber
Knight A soldier of the king.Rode a horse and wore armour.
Page a boy is sent to another family aged 7, to start traiing to be a knight
Squire aged 14, the knight-in training would learn how to use weapons, and how to ride a horse and wear armour
Dubbing The ceremony or elebration at 21 whn a squire became a knight.
Peasants Poorer farmers that worked on the land and lived in small huts
Medieval town Built near castle and rivers. they were dirty and disease spread. Fairs or market were held in the town.
Guild tested new craftsmen, set standards and prices, helped old or sick member
Craftman a man who was trained in a special craft eg. baker, carpenter. he was a member of a guild.
Training to be a craftsman Apprentice (12), joined a craftsman to learn. After 7 year, became a journeyman travelling to learn more and sell his items. After 7 more years, the Guild set him an exam and he became a master craftsman. He could set up his own wirkshop.
Monastery A place where monks lived
Monk A man devoted to religion
Chapter house main building in the monastery where monks met for daily business
Cloister A covered walkway i the monastery
Dormitory where the monks slept
Refectory Dining room, where monks ate
Black Death Infectious plague or disease, caused by the fleas on rats. Caused most patients to die
