coefficient the numerical factor in a variable term
variable term a term in an equation or expression that has a coefficient and variable
reciprocal a number that when multiplied by another number equals 1
equivalent values that are equal but may not look the same
least common multiple smallest value that is a multiple of two or more different numbers
greatest common factor the largest factor that two or more numbers are divisible by
unit rate a rate that compares two quantities to a unit of 1
x- axis the horizontal axis on a coordinate plane
y- axis the vertical axis on a coordinate plane
inverse operation the mathematical operation that reverses or "undoes" a mathematical operation to result in 0
area the number of square units to cover a shape
