Science vocab for lesson 3

TermDefinition
Passive solar heating A building that can collect, store, and distribute the energy of the sun naturally.
Active solar heating The use of tech to collect, store, and distribute heat from the sun.
Flat-plate solar collector A mechanism that absorbs heat from the sun to use and distribute for daily life.
Photovoltaic An object that converts solar energy into electricity.
Cell concentrating solar power Tech that uses mirrors to focus sunlight to generate electricity.
Wind turbine A device that turns the kinetic energy of the wind in electricity.
Wind farm Places where multiple wind farms are stored.
