Federal Election Commission Independent regulatory agency created by congress to enforce federal election law
Primary Election where party members go to the polls to vote on who earns their party’s nomination
Caucus Election where members of a party select delegates to send to the national party convention where they vote to nominate a candidate
Convention Meeting where members chosen as delegates vote for the candidate supported by their state’s voters
third party candidate Someone who represents a party neither democrat or republican
