What is the name that we have given to the background information of the play? We call it the exposition or prologue.

What are Romeo’s sleeping habits at the beginning of the play? He’s up all night and sleeps all day.
Is Capulet ready for Juliet to marry Paris? What excuse does he make? Is Lady Capulet ready? No, he is not. He says that Paris can marry her only if Juliet feels the same way about him. Lady Capulet thinks her daughter is naive for not wanting to marry right now.
Why does the servant need Romeo’s help with the invitations? Peter needs help because he can’t read and needs to understand the list of guests.
Why is Romeo worried about going to the party? He is worried it will lead to his untimely death.
What does Mercutio say Queen Mab makes us do? He says that Queen Mab makes us dream.
Does Romeo see Rosaline at the party? Yes, he does see her, but then sees Juliet and immediately falls head over heels, completely forgetting about Rosaline.
Why does Capulet stop Tybalt from attacking Romeo at the party? What does he think about him? He stops him because one, he doesn’t want to start any violent banter at his banquet, and two, because he thinks Romeo is a nice, well-presented young man.

What does Romeo compare his lips to in order to score a kiss from Juliet? He compares his lips to two blushing pilgrims.
How does Juliet find out Romeo’s name without letting on that she likes him? She asks the Nurse about several men at the party, including.
Who swears revenge on Romeo at the end of the Act? Tybalt swears revenge on Romeo for ‘crashing’ his uncle's banquet.
In Act 2 Chorus, what is meant by the line “Now old desire in his deathbed lie, and young affection gapes to be his heir”? (see translation and explain in your own words) Romeo’s old love for Rosaline is dying, and his new love for Juliet is growing stronger.
