solar system A star and all planets and other objects that revolve around it
planet A large round body that revolves around a star in a clear orbit

galaxy a huge collection of gas, dust, and billions of stars and their solar systems, all held together by gravity.
light year Light-year is the distance light travels in one year
universe Light is energy that can take on many forms
apparent magnitude Apparent magnitude is the brightness of an object as it appears to an observer on Earth
luminosity the quality of something that gives off light or shines with reflected light.
absolute magnitude the apparent magnitude an object would have if it were located at a distance of 10 parsecs
