| Term | Definition |

| sample size | describes the number of data points collected in the sample |
| mean | a measure of center (an average) |
| median | the middle number of the data set |
| mode | the piece of data that is most common |
| range | the difference from the greatest number from the least |
| IQR | the middle of the boxes the 50% of the box plot |
| quartile 1 | the middle number on the left half |
| quartile 3 | the middle number on the right half |
| MAD | one way to describe the variability |
| outlier | a piece of data that is far from the others |
| symmetrical | the bar graph is able to be split into two equal half's |
| right skewed | it has a tail on its right |
| left skewed | it has a tail on its left |
| bi modal | it has two humps |
| uniform | probability distrubution |
| probability | the likeliness or not that something could happen |
| impossible | its 0 and cant happen |
| certain | its a 1 and is going to happen |
| equally likely | its equal |
| unlikely | its between 0 and 1/2 |
| likely | its between 1/2 and 1 |
| compliment of an event | the opposite of the event example, "rolling a dice and not getting 3" = getting 1,2,4,5,6 |
