| Term | Definition |

| Impossible | Some events will never happen because they are inmpossible. Likelihood is a 0. |
| Unlikely | Unlikely events are closer to impossible. Likelihood is a 0-1/2. |
| Equally probable | An event that is equally probable to occur or not to occur is exactly halfway between impossible (0) and certain (1) on this scale. Likelihood is a 1/2. |
| Likely | Likely events are closer to certain. Likelihood is a 1/2-1. |
| Certain | Other events will definitely happen because they are certain. Likelihood is a 1. |
| probability | The likelihood that an event will happen can be given a number value, or probability. |
| Complement |
