QuestionAnswer
System of Equations A set of 2 or more linear equations with the same variables graphed on the same coordinate.
Perpendicular Lines two lines that meet a 90 degree angles; with opposite reciprocals
Parallel Lines two lines that never touch, with the same slope and different y-intercepts
Boundary Line solid or dashed line of a graphed inequality
Open interval does not have endpoints uses ()
closed interval includes endpoints and uses [ ]
Inequality any of these symbols: >, <. >=, and <=,
Greater than > bigger than #
Less Than < smaller than #
Greater than or equal to >= bigger than # or equal to the #
Less than or equal to <= smaller than # or equal to the #
Solution of linear inequality An ordered pair that makes the linear inequality true
Systems of Linear Equations a set of 2 or more inequalities graphed on the same coordinate
Solid line a type of line used to indicate that solutions on the line are included; >= or <=
Dashed line a type of line used to indicate that solution on the line are not included; . or <
No solution system Occurs with the lines in the system never intersect
Infinitely Many Solution Occurs in a system of equations when the lines are the exact same
Intersection the point where two lines cross.
interval notation uses the beginning and ending numbers of an interval
Set builder notation {x|x>0} the set of x such that x is greater than 0
linear inequality an inequality of a linear functions; y>-2x+1
