| Weathering | The breaking down of rocks into sediment |
| Erosion | The movement of rocks and other sediment from one place to another(Wind, water, glaciers, and gravity) |
| Ice wedging | A type of weathering due to freezing and thawing of water in the cracks of rocks |
| Chemical Weathering | When chemicals breaks down the bonds holding rocks together and cause them to fall apart into smaller pieces |
| Oxidation | Chemical Weathering in which iron combines oxygen to make rust |
| Carbonation | Chemical weathering in which carbon dioxide combines with water to create acid rain that breaks down rocks |
| Physical Weathering | The mechanical breaking down of rock |
| Abrasions | Physical Weathering in which rock scrape against other rocks and break them into smaller pieces (River rocks) |
