genre a kind of literary or artistic work
protagonist The main character in a story—the one the story is mostly about.
antagonist The character or force that causes problems for the protagonist.
exaggeration When something is made to seem bigger, better, or more important than it really is
perspective The way a story is told or how a character sees and understands things.
Science Fiction genre involving the imagined impact of technology on society
Thriller a suspenseful story, play, or movie
essay piece of writing where someone shares their ideas, opinions, or information about one topic.
Prose writing that uses normal sentences and paragraphs, just like the way we talk every day.
short story A short piece of fiction that tells a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end.
Novella A story that is longer than a short story but shorter than a novel; short novel.
memoir A true story written by someone about their own life or a special memory.
