| Narrative | something (such as a story)that is told in full detail |
| onset-rime pairs | two parts of a syllable: the onset consists of the initial consonant(s), and the rime consists of the vowel and any consonants that follow it. (For example, in the word sat, the onset is s and the rime is at. |

| Phrase | a group of two or more words that express a single idea but do not usually form a complete sentence a brief expression that is commonly used |
