Legislative Branch Vocabulary
| Term | Definition |

| Senate | There are 100 seats, Senators serve for 6 years,you have to be at least 30 years old, you have to have been a U.S. citizen for 9 years and last, you have to be a resident of a represented state. |
| House of Representatives | There are 435 seats, the number of representatives is based on state population, census helps apportion seats, and last, representatives serve for 2 years. |
| Bicameral Legislature | Consisting of two houses, as in a law-making body |
| Apportioned | To be distributed as in the seats in the House of Representatives |
| Gerrymandering | The process of drawing congressional district lines to favor a political party |
| Expulsion | The removal of a person from an institution, such as congress, for serious misconduct |
| Censure | The formal disapproval of the actions of a member of Congress by the other members. |
| Sessions | Meetings of congress |
| Caucus | Meetings of party leaders to determine party policy or to choose the parties candidates for public office. |
| President Pro Tempore | The official who presides over the Senate in the Vice Presidents absence. |
| Speaker of the House | The presiding officer of the House of Representatives. |
| Implied Powers | Powers not specificallly granted to Congress by the U.S. constitution that are suggested to be necessary to carry out delegated Powers to Congress under constitution. |
