QuestionAnswer
Adjacent angles Angles that have the same vertex, share a common side, and do not overlap.
Alternate exterior angles Exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
Alternate interior angles Interior angels that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
base One of the two parallel congruent faces of a prism.
complementary angles Two angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90 degrees.
angle Two rays with a common endpoint for an angle. The rays and the vertex are used to name the angle.
cone a three-dimensional figure with one circular base connected by a curved surface to a single point.
congruent Having the same measure: if one image can be obtained from another by a sequence of rotations, reflections, or translations.
congruent figures Figures that have the same size and same shape and corresponding sides and angles with equal measure.
congruent segments Sides with the same length.
corresponding angles Angles that are in the same position on two parallel lines in relation to a transversal.
cross section the intersection of a solid and a plane.
congruent angles Angles that have the same measure
cylinder A three dimensional figure with two parallel congruent circular bases connected by a curved surface
edge the line segment where two faces of a polyhedron intersect
exterior angles/exterior angle The four outer angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal. An angle between one side of a polygon and the extension of an adjacent side
interior angles/ interior angle An angle inside a polygon. The four inside angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal.
