Community all of the populations of all different species that interact in a certain area

Commensalism occurs when one species benefits but the other is unaffected
Competion when individuals use the same resources—resulting in lower fitness for both
Consumption occurs when one organism eats or absorbs nutrients or other resources from another living organism.
Mutualism occurs when two species interact in a way that confers fitness benefits to both
Types of Distribution Random , Uniform , Clumped
Random No clear pattern
Uniform , organized even spacing , caused by competition
Clumped a group of individuals
Proximate causes how something happens, Ex : Behavior, physiology, immediate triggers
Ultimate causes why it evolved, Ex : Improves survival or reproduction
Fecundity Average number of female offspring produced at a certain age
Only females are tracked because They determine population growth directly
Age structure determines future reproduction potential
Survivorship probability of reaching each age
Type 1 survivorship
Type 2 survivorship
Type 3 survivorship
