median middle data value
mode value that occurs most often
mean average of data
mean absolute deviation the average distance that the data points in a set of data are from the mean
range difference between the greatest and least value
inner quartile range difference between the third and first quartile
outlier a data point that varies greatly from the rest of the data
skewed-left has a long tail extending to the left
skewed-right has a long tail extending to the right
symmetrical perfectly symmetric and can be divided into two halves.
bi-modal to modes or humps
uniform the data is the exact same no mode
Lower extreme the lowest data point
Upper extreme the highest data point
First quartile the median of the first half
Third quartile the median of the third half
IQR the distance from the third quartile and first quartile
probability the likelihood of an event happening
impossible events that will never happen
certain will definitely happen
equally probable has an equal chance of happening
unlikely event has a probability greater than 0 but less than 1/2
likely event has a probability greater than 1/2 but less than 1
sample size the amount of data
complement opposite of the event, includes all outcomes that are not part of the original event
