Statistics terms
| Term | Definition |

| Mean | Average of the data |
| Median | Middle of the data value |
| Mode | Value that occurs/repeats the most |
| Range | Measure of variability |
| Inner quartile range/IQR | The difference between the first and third quartile |
| Outlier | A data point which varies significantly from the other data points |
| Skewed left | Distribution of data with a 'tail' going to the left |
| Skewed right | Distribution of data with a 'tail' going to the right |
| Symmetrical | Distribution of data with 'tails' equally to the right and left |
| Bimodal | Distribution of data with 2 'humps' |
| Uniform | Distribution of data that is the same or 'flat' |
| Mean absolute deviation | The average distance that data points in a set of data are from the mean |
| Probability | The likelihood that an event will happen |
| Impossible | Events that will never happen |
| Certain | Events that will definitely happen |
| Equally probable | Events that can happen and can't happen |
| Unlikely | Events where the probability is between 0 and 1/2 |
| Likely | Events where the probability is between 1/2 and 1 |
| Complement | The opposite of a statistical event. |
