| range | the difference of the greatest value and the least value |
| median | the middle data value |
| inner quartile range | the difference between the third quartile and the first quartile |
| outlier | a value that is signifcantly larger or smaller than other observations |
| skewed left | a long tail extending to the left |
| right skewed | a long tail extending to the right |
| symmetrical | a shape that can be divided int two halves |
| bimodal | a distribution has two modes |
| uniform | has no mode and are also considered symmetrical |
| mean absolute deviation | a average distance that the data points in a set of data are from the mean |
| probability | the chance that a given event will occur |
| impossible | it can never happen |
| certain | it will always happen |
| equally probable/equally likely | something that is equally possible not to happen and to happen |
| unlikely | having a low probability of occurring |
| likely | having a high probability of occurring or being true |
| complement | The number that is needed to fill in the rest of the whole |
| sample size | the amount of the thing being measured |
| quartile 1 | the point between the lower extreme and median |
| quartile 3 | the point between the upper extreme and median |
