Statistics

TermDefinition
sample size Describes the number of data points collected in the sample.
median It is the measure if center. It is the middle data value.
mode It is the value that occurs most often.
range It is the difference of the greatest value and the least value.
interquartile range It represents the difference between the third quartile and the first quartile.
quartile 1 The median of the 1st half.
quartile 3 The median of the 2nd half.
symmetrical The shape perfectly symmetric, because it can be divided into two halves that are mirror images of each other. They do not have to have perfect symmetry.
right-skewed If the distribution has a long tail extending to the right, it is skewed to the right.
left-skewed If the distribution has a long tail extending to the left, it is skewed to the left.
