Types of Plants

Biology

Plant TypeDescription
Trees Large, tall plants with a thick, woody stem called a trunk
Shrubs/Bushes Shorter than trees with several hard, woody stems branching near the ground
Herbs Small plants with soft, green, fragile stems that can be used for food or medicine
Climber vines Plants with very weak stems that need support to grow upward
Creeper vines Plants with weak stems that spread along the ground
Succulents Drought-resistant, fleshy-leaved or stemmed plants that store water in their leaves, stems, or roots to survive
Bryophytes a flowerless, non-vascular plants that grow low to the ground in wet areas that reproduce with spores
Pteridophytes flowerless, vascular plants with feathery or leafy fronds and reproduces by spores
