Ecosystem Made up of all living and non living things that interact in one place
Biome A large group of ecosystems that have similar characteristics
Climate Weather over a period of time.
Precipitation Rain, sleet, hail and snow
Biotic Living things
Abiotic Non living things
Community The group of living things in an ecosystems
Population Consist of all the members of the same type or organism that live in an ecosystem
Individual A single organism of a particular species
Species A group of living organisms that interbreed with one another
Biosphere Is the part of Earth where life occurs
Ecosystems Include : Abiotic and biotic factors, species, populations, communities and what is needed for survival ( sunlight, minerals and water)
Niche A species role or relationship with abiotic and biotic factors of the ecosystem
Predator An animal that eats other animals
Prey The animal that is eaten
Food Chain Describes the transfer of energy from producers to consumers
Food Web Formed by food chains and include producers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores and decomposers
Producers Are at the bottom of the food web and use the sun to make their own food
Herbivores Plant eating animals, primary consumers and the first animal of the food chain
Carnivores Consumers who get their energy from eating other animals they hunt
Omnivores Eat both plants and animals for energy
Carnivores and Omnivores Found at or near the top of the food web
Decomposers Feed on dead plants and animals, breaking them down to give the soil nutrients
