gymnosperm a flowerless, vascular plant that bears their seeds directly on the scales of cones (naked)
angiosperm flowering, vascular plants, bear their seeds in flowers inside a special layer of tissue that surrounds and protects the seed
seed a plant embryo and its food supply encased in a protective covering
sepal outermost, protective portion of a flower that covers the bud and connects to the stem
petals colorful parts of a flower that attract pollinators
stamen male parts containing a filament and anther
carpels female parts containing style, stigma and ovary (becomes the fruit)
