Constitution Convent

Amendment An addition or change made to the US constitution
Article The constitution is broken up into 7 parts covering a topic known as articles
Congress Is made up of the House Representatives and the Senate. It creates laws.
Convention Meeting held to change or create a constitution.

Founding fathers The people who created the U.S. Constitution at the convention e.x: Washington, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, & Rufus King.
Great compromise All states get two senators representatives based on population.
3/5 compromise slaves counted as 3/5 to determine number of representatives.

Propose When Congress or states suggest amendments (changes) to the constitution
Ratify/Ratification When states approve a constitution or an amendment to it.
Slavery The buying, and selling, and owning of people. In U.S; it was based on race.
Slavery Clauses Includes 3/5 slave trade and fugitive slave Clauses.
