Adenocarcinoma Cancerous tumor of a gland or mucus-secreting organ
Adrenal feminization Development of female traits in someone with male anatomy
Adrenal virilism Development of male traits in someone with female anatomy
Cretinism Congenital hypothyroidism causing delayed physical and mental development
Cushing’s syndrome Condition caused by excess cortisol leading to weight gain, weakness, and high blood pressure
Diabetes insipidus (DI) Disorder caused by low ADH resulting in excessive thirst and urination
Diabetes mellitus (DM) Disorder where insulin is insufficient or ineffective, causing high blood sugar
Type 1 diabetes mellitus Autoimmune disease with little or no insulin production
Type 2 diabetes mellitus Condition where insulin is produced but not used effectively
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) Serious diabetes complication causing buildup of acidic ketones
Diabetic retinopathy Damage to the retina caused by diabetes
Dwarfism Condition of short stature often caused by low growth hormone
Edema Swelling caused by excess fluid in tissues
Exophthalmos Bulging of the eyes usually due to hyperthyroidism
Gigantism Excessive growth due to too much growth hormone
Graves’ disease Autoimmune disorder causing hyperthyroidism and bulging eyes
Gynecomastia Enlargement of male breast tissue
Hirsutism Excessive hair growth, especially in females, due to hormones
Hyperparathyroidism Excess PTH causing bone breakdown and high calcium levels
Insulinoma Tumor that causes excessive insulin secretion
Myxedema Severe hypothyroidism causing swelling and thickened skin
Obesity Excess body fat, sometimes linked to hormonal imbalance
Panhypopituitarism Deficiency of all pituitary hormones
Peripheral neuropathy Nerve damage causing pain and weakness, often from diabetes
Pheochromocytoma Tumor of adrenal gland causing excess epinephrine and high blood pressure
SIADH Excess ADH causing fluid retention and low sodium levels
Tetany Muscle spasms caused by low calcium levels
Thyrotoxicosis Condition caused by excess thyroid hormones (T3 and T4)
