What does protein do? Protein helps you grow and repair injured tissue
What does carbohydrates do? Carbohydrates give your body energy
What does fats do? Fats provide lots of energy and calories
What do minerals do? Minerals help build bones and teeth, helps control the amount of water in your body, build new cells, and keep you healthy
What do Vitamins do? Vitamin A= helps eyes and skin and protects you against ¨night blindness¨. Vitamin C= prevents scurvy, serious colds and bruising. Vitamin D= made inside the body when you are exposed to sunlight and helps prevent the bone disease called rickets.
What does water do? Water carries nutrients and takes wastes away, helps keep your body at the right temperature and forms a large part of your blood and saliva and is the most important nutrients
