Correspondence Bias Viewing behavior as the result from disposition even when it can be explained by situational.
Fundamental Attribution Error Overestimate dispositional factors and underestimate situational factors when explaining other people’s behavior
Actor-observer bias Other behaviors = dispositional, our own behavior = situational
Self-serving bias Success = dispositional factors, Failure = situational factors
Just-world bias Good things happen to good people, bad to bad people
Scapegoating A person or group, typically a member of an out-group who serves as the target for the frustrations and negative emotions of the members of the in-group
Realistic conflict theory Prejudice and discrimination will be increased between groups that are in conflict over a limited resource.
Engaged followership People are willing to do unpleasant things as long as they agree with the objectives.
Low balling Getting a commitment from a person and then raising the cost of that commitment.
Group polarization The intensifying on an attitude following discussion
Social facilitation A situation where the presence of other people changes performance
Groupthink A type of flawed decision making in which the group does not question its decision critically. The desire for conformity overrides alternatives and leads to irrational decisions.
