era a distinct span of time in history defined by shared intellectual, artistic, cultural, or social characteristics in literature Noun The era or rule of the dinosaurs came to an end after the meteor wiped them out.
movement a collective trend in literature where a group of authors, often within a specific timeframe or location, share common philosophies, artistic styles, themes, or goals Noun Dr. Seuss movement was to teach children about themes in life and many other authors also represent this.
historical account a narrative or record documenting past events, often focusing on accuracy, evidence, and chronological order Noun A important event in the historical account was covid because it impacted millions of people.
position an author's stance or relationship to the topic and audience Noun The position of the the author and the audience would most likely be entertainer and entertained.
coherent a logically organized piece of writing where ideas, sentences, and paragraphs connect clearly to create an easily understood whole Adjective He made a coherent plan to raise our grade that we could understand!
focus the central controlling idea, theme, or topic that anchors a text, ensuring coherence by directing the audience’s attention to essential details Noun Focus on your life a lit more and you can improve yourself even more.
curate to select, organize, and present content, items, or artistic works, often using expert knowledge to provide context or a specific theme Noun He curated on the theme of this book for readers to better understand it.
text feature A component of a text that helps readers locate, understand, and organize information, particularly in non-fiction. For example, indexes, page numbers, headings, illustrations, and captions. Verb The text feature is usually located in the front or the back
herded Moved a group of people or animals in a particular direction Noun The animals are herded by shepards but now they are herded by farmers.
sharp highly intelligent, perceptive, and able to understand complex situations rapidly Adjective If you are sharp you will be successful from a very young age.

drafted Involuntarily and mandatorily enlisted into military service. Verb Many people don't want to be drafted today but it was the complete opposite back then.
