Battle of Fredricksburg Lee's army took control of a hill outside of town. Union had to get across a river and up the hill to attack Lee. They were able to "rain down" on the union army killing over 13,000.

What Amendment do the slaves have the right to vote? 15th

Monopoly Where one business takes over an industry and makes it hard for anyone else to be able work in it
Emancipation Proclamation Proclaimed 3.5 million slaves in the confederate states to be free. if they ran way or through the Union army, they were considered free
General George Meade Union General in the battle of Gettysburg. Had a camp on a ridge with cannons and defeated Lee and the confederates there
Sherman March to the Sea 1864 - he marched a Union army from Atlanta to the Atlantic and killed everyone who was in their way and against the union. Slaves were freed. This was bad for the Confederate economy and had them questioning the war
John Wilks Booth Assonated President Lincoln when watching the play Our American Cousins at Ford's Theatre. Booth sympathized with the southerners

Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain General for the Union; Swinging gate - So split his men in half and said this half is swinging down to make it look like another division coming and won the battle
Picket's Charge Confederate whose men when charging the union, ran into a big fence that needed to be taken down. was hard to do and lost a lot of men. Union won that battle and general lee said gather up your men you are going again and he said he had no division
What day did John Wilks Booth assonate President Lincoln? April 14, 1865
William Seward he was sick in bed and person wanted to kill him with medicine and his daughter saw it and he survived
What is Reconstruction? Bringing confederate states back into the union but they needed ratify 3 amendments for that to happen
What is the transcontinental railroad? Completed in 1869 and connected the USA from the atlantic to the pacific
What was the problem with industry? Factories were unfit for humans being so dirty and unsafe; Rivers were being polluted; Cities were overpopulated;
What did the Seceded states form? CSA - Confederate States of America - Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, SC, NC, Virginia
Who was Jefferson Davis? He was the Confederate President who wanted the CSA to be an independant country
Who won the battle of Bull Run? Confederates
What Battle happened on May 12, 1863? Battle of Channellorsville
When was the battle of Gettysburg? July 1-3, 1863
What year was Johnson impeached? 1868 because of treason, high crimes and other misdimeanors
