| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Bases of a Parallelogram | any one of its four sides, usually chosen as the bottom side, from which the height is measured |
| Height of a Parallelogram | The height of a parallelogram is the perpendicular distance between the base and its opposite side, h=A/b |
| Height of a Trapezoid | the perpendicular distance between its two parallel sides, known as the bases |
| Circumference | the total distance around the outside of a circle or curved shape |
| Arc Length | the distance along a curved line, specifically a portion of a circle's circumference, intercepted by a central angle |
| Sector of a Circle | a pie-shaped portion of a disk (the interior of a circle) enclosed by two radii and an arc |
| Center of a Polygon | often called its centroid or center of mass, is the geometric center or "balancing point" of a shape |
| Radius of a Polygon | the distance from its center to any of its vertices (corners) |
| Apothem of a Polygon | line segment from the center of a regular polygon to the midpoint of one of its sides, acting as the radius of the polygon's incircle, it is perpendicular to the side it bisects |
| Central Angle of a Regular Polygon | the angle formed at its center by two radii drawn to adjacent vertices, 360/n |
