QuestionAnswer
Anguish (noun): emotional pain; torment EX: I was in such ANGUISH when I broke my arm.
Bizarre (adj): odd, strange, weird EX: When hearing slang from other countries, the language sounds BIZARRE.
Mystified (verb): puzzling or bewildering EX: The disappearance of the child MYSTIFIED law enforcement.
Disarming (adj): using charm to remove suspicion EX: The DISARMING grin of the thief allowed her to gain the trust of her victims.
Discern (verb): to perceive subtle differences, to understand or make sense of the "real" meaning EX: Algebra is difficult to DISCERN because letters don't belong in math!
Dread (verb): fear, foreboding, alarm EX: I always DREAD Sunday nights when I have a test on Monday.
Extremity (noun): extreme limit or end EX: Alara trained to the EXTREMITY, which ultimately led to injury.
Indolently (adv): lazily, with no interest or effort EX: My cat INDOLENTLY lays in the window soaking up the sun.
Lacerated (verb): to cut up , slice, or tear EX: When I stepped on the glass, it LACERATED my foot, and I bled everywhere.
Menacing (adj): threatening EX: The MENACING dark clouds indicated that a storm was approaching quickly!
Mirage (noun): an illusion or trick of the eye EX: The MIRAGE in the desert was a lake with cool blue water.
Opaqueness (adj): darkness; lack of clarity; not able to see EX: The opaqueness of the fog made for dangerous driving conditions.
Quarry (noun): prey, something which is hunted EX: After hours in my deer stand, I finally spotted my QUARRY.
Reports (noun): the sound of gunshots EX: The hunters REPORTS echoed through the woods.
Staccato (adj/adv): abrupt, short, clear sounds EX: The STACCATO of the drum made it easy to keep tempo of the song.
