| alternate exterior angles | exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal |
| alternate interior angles | interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the trasversal |
| bases | one of the two parallel congruent faces of a prism |
| complementary angles | two angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90 |
| cone | a three-dimensional figure with one circular base connected by a curved surface to a single point |
| congruent | angles that have the same measure |
| corresponding angles | angles that are in the same position on two parallel lines in relation to a transversal |
| cross section | the intersection of a solid and plane |
| cylinder | a three dimensional figure with two parallel congruent bases connected by a curved surface |
| edge | the line segment where two faces of a polyhedron intersect |
| exterior angles | an angle between one side of a polygon and the extension of an adjacent side |
| face | a flat surface of a polyhedron |
| interior angles | the four inside angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal |
| parallel lines | lines in the same plane that never intersect or cross |
| perpendicular lines | two lines that intersect to form right angles |
| plane | |
| polyhedron | a three-dimensional figure with faces that are polygons |
| prism | a polyhedron with two parallel congruent faces called bases |

| scale | the scale that gives the ratio that compares the measurements of a drawing or model to the measurements of the real object |
| scale drawings | a drawing that is used to represent objects that are too large or too small to be drawn at actual size |
| scale fator | a scale written as a ratio without units in simplest form |
| scale model | a model used to represent objects that are too large or too small to be built at actual size |
