Sequester Isolate or hide away

Constraint How fast a species can evolve, restricting the range of possible traits

Carrying Capacity The maximum number of individuals of a specific species that an environment can support over the long term without damaging the ecosystem
Correlation A mutual relationship or connection between two or more things
Causation The action of causing something
Aesthetic The evolutionary study of stimuli
Stimulates To activate a living organism, organ, tissue, or cell to a higher level of activity or to cause a specific response
Regulates Maintain homeostasis
Tradeoff Improving one trait or function leads to a decline in another (Red blood cells)
Biomass The total mass of living or recently living organic matter (plants and animals)
Mimic Imitate (someone or their actions or words), especially in order to entertain
Facilitate Make (an action or process) easy or easier
