PNS consists of ALL nerves
cell body of neuron central part of neuron with nucleus and organelles
dendrites of neuron conduct impulses towards the cell body
axon conduct impulses away from cell body
neuron is responsible for communication, thinking, sensation, process info, and responses
sensory (afferent) neurons conduct impulses to the spinal cord and brain
motor (efferent) neurons conducts impulses away from spinal cord and brain
interneurons conduct impulses from sensory to motor neurons or among a network of interneurons also known as central/connecting neurons
