TermDefinition
Brainstorming A technique used to generate and collect multiple ideas related to project and product requirements.
Float The amount of time that an activity can be delayed before it causes your project to be delayed. Also known as slack.
Project constraints Factors that limit a project's execution and can impact its scope, schedule, and resources.
Project deliverables The outputs of a project including documents and tools.
Project scope statement A document that outlines the specific deliverables, objectives, and boundaries of a project.
Requirements Management Plan Documents how requirements will be analyzed, documented, and managed throughout the project.
Requirements Traceability Matrix A table that links requirements to their origin and traces them throughout the project life cycle.
Scope baseline A document that defines the scope of a project and is used as a reference point throughout the project's life cycle; includes scope statement, WBS, and WBS dictionary.
Variance analysis Attempts to identify and explain the reasons for the difference between an actual and planned behavior
Verify scope The process of formalizing acceptance of the completed project deliverables.
