| What is Weather? | Weather describes the current state of our atmosphere in a specific place. |
| What is Temperature? | The measure of hotness or coldness expressed in terms of any of several scales, including Fahrenheit and Celsius. |
| What is Precipitation? | Any form of water—liquid or solid—that falls from the atmosphere to the Earth's surface. |
| What are the different types of Precipitation? | Rain (liquid) Snow (ice crystals) Sleet (frozen rain pellets) Hail (ice balls from thunderstorms). |
| What does it mean when the weather lists a "HIGH" and "LOW" in the forecast for the day ? | The maximum and minimum temperatures expected over a 24-hour period |
| High Temperatures occur during what part of the day and indicates what ? | Usually occurs in the afternoon and indicates the peak heat for the day. |
| Lower Temperatures occur during what part of the day and indicates what ? | Generally occurs overnight or just before dawn and indicates the coldest point. |

| What is a Thermometer? | A device used to measure temperature (how hot or cold a substance is) |
| What is a Barometer? | A scientific instrument used to measure atmospheric pressure (the weight of the air above us) to forecast weather changes |
