| Spyware | a type of malicious software (malware) that secretly installs on devices—computers or phones—to steal sensitive personal data, such as passwords, bank details, and browsing habits, without the user’s consent. |
| Dumpster Diving | search through dumpsters or similar trash receptacles for edible food or items of value. |
| Firewall | a network security system that monitors and filters incoming and outgoing traffic based on established security rules |
| Forgery | the action of forging or producing a copy of a document, signature, banknote, or work of art. |
| Fraud | wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain. |
| Identity Theft | occurs when someone steals your personal information—such as your name, Social Security number, or financial details—to commit fraud, such as opening accounts, stealing money, or obtaining services without your permission. |
| Peer-To-Peer | denoting or relating to computer networks in which each computer can act as a server for the others, allowing shared access to files and peripherals without the need for a central server. |
| Phishing | a type of cyberattack where scammers impersonate legitimate entities—such as banks, employers, or trusted services—via email, text, or phone to steal sensitive information like passwords, credit card numbers, and login credentials. |
