How did they update these maps? As explorers returned from, their voyages,the info they brought used to update maps
What did new inventions do to a ship Allows for more accurate calculations of its position and speed
What was a quadrant and astrolabe These helped determine a ships latitude by using the position of the stars and sun
What is latitude Distance from equator
What is compass used for It was used to identify north so the direction a ship was sailing in could be calculated
