| mental incapacity | a legal and medical term referring to a person’s inability to understand the consequences of their actions |
| minor | generally defined as a person under the legal age of majority, typically 18 in most U.S. states and many countries. |
| minority | the smaller number or part, especially a number that is less than half the whole number |
| necessaries | the basic requirements of life, such as food and warmth |
| ratification | the action of signing or giving formal consent to a treaty, contract, or agreement, making it officially valid |
| scope of authority | the range of actions an agent is permitted to take on behalf of a principal |
