Mångkulturellt samhälle Ett samhälle där flera olika kulturer finns samtidigt
Subkultur En grupp inom ett större samhälle med egna värderingar och normer som skiljer sig från majoriteten
Utsatta Områden Bostadsområden med stora sociala problem, t.ex. hög kriminalitet
utanförskap När en person känner sig utanför samhället
främlingsfientlighet När man är rädd för eller behandlar människor från andra länder sämre
strejk När arbetare vägrar arbeta för att få igenom krav
Kollektivavtal Avtal som bestämmer arbetsgivares och arbetstagares rättigheter och skyldigheter
Lagen om anställningsskydd (LAS) Lag som skyddar anställda från att bli uppsagda utan giltig anledning
arbetsmiljölagen Lag som ska förhindra att människor blir skadade eller sjuka på jobbet
arbetsrätt Regler och lagar som styr rättigheter och skyldigheter på arbetsmarknaden
fackförbund Föreningar som arbetar för arbetarnas intressen
arbetsgivarorginisationer Föreningar som representerar arbetsgivare
Socialförsäkringar Pengar från staten vid t.ex. sjukdom, arbetslöshet eller pension
välfärd Samhällets resurser för att skapa trygghet, t.ex. vård och skola
offentlig sektor Verksamheter som styrs av stat, region eller kommun och finansieras med skatt
privata välfärdsföretag Företag som driver t.ex. skolor och vårdcentraler
Global ekonomi Hur världens länder hänger ihop ekonomiskt och handlar med varandra
förädla Att förbättra en vara så att den blir mer värdefull
naturresurser Resurser i naturen som människor använder, t.ex. skog och mineraler
BNP Värdet av alla varor och tjänster som produceras i ett land under ett år
Globalisering Process där världens länder knyts närmare varandra
