AS poetry module

QuestionAnswer
alliteration the same or similar sounds at the beginning of words
ambiguity the possibility of something having more than one meaning
assonance repetition of vowel sounds in words beside each other
consonance the repetition of consonant sounds beside each other
couplet two lines which are paired in length or rhyme
enjambment a thought or sentence that continues into the next line/ lines
figurative language similes and metaphors
onomatopoeia words that sound like the noise they're describing
temporal marker word or phrase that anchors the poem in time
