| Revolve | the movement of one object in a circular or elliptical path around another, central object |
| Rotate | the spinning motion of an object around its own internal axis |
| Axis | an invisible line around which an object rotates, or spins |
| Waning | the part of the moon’s cycle when its illumination is gradually decreasing |
| Waxing | the part of the moon’s cycle when its illumination is gradually increasing |
| Planet | A celestial object that (1) orbits a start, (2) is round, and (3) has cleared the objects in its orbital path. |
| Asteroid Belt | a region between the inner and outer planets that contains asteroids held together by gravity. |
| Gravity | an invisible force that pulls any two objects with mass towards each other. |
| Accretion | the coming together and camping and sticking together of matter due to gravity to form larger and larger objects. |
